The Academic Board (AB) is the highest academic decision-making oversight board in the following key areas within the Commerce Edge CHE qualifications.
  • As a private provider of education in the Higher Education and Training band, there is a legislative environment that governs the Higher Education and Training landscape in South Africa.
  • The legislative framework is based on:
    • The South African Council of Higher Education (CHE) and the Higher Education Quality Assurance Committee (HEQC).
    • The South African Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET).
    • The South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA).
  • The board ensures that Commerce Edge operates within these specific auspices in delivering its educational programmes to the students. 
  • The board also ensures that the qualification programmes are fit-for-purpose and relevant to industry and the market at large. 
  • The Academic Board’s domain covers the academic governance structures, which include, among other key elements, the teaching and learning, examination and assessment and programme evaluation.
  • All the academic quality assurance-related processes and policies
  • Ensure execution and alignment to the Commerce Edge vision, mission, value statements and organisational policies
